Sporadic text,
"i miss you"
When you comin' home?
Remember this...?
Remember that...?
Remember "we"...?
Those the conversations every couple of months or so...
We talk about what "we" used to be
And often ask how did "we" get to "used to be"
Most of the time, the finger points to me.
She say i ain't really care, I left her there
That's all i hear...
I did care, I ain't wanna leave her there
I ain't have no idea that the miles, days, weeks, would take the tool that it did
Now, the late-night surprises, impromptu dates, stolen moments are just memories.
I was her journal, she wrote her life on me
She was my canvas, Painted her a masterpiece...
Then life sent us on different paths, and we drifted apart
Still #1 in each other's heart, but life did it's part
It left me without her, and now when these conversations occur...
It's full of what ifs, reality is "we" are only what "used to be"

Say Hello
Saying good-bye can make the most stoic person emotional; and the most emotional insane. Good-bye, a strong word, most people only mean it in the context of "until the next time." When it's good-bye forever, including death, that's hard to accept. Death eliminates the "until the next time" element; the other good-bye is complicated. Saying good-bye to relationships, romantic relationships, makes things even more complicated. Good-bye to love? Devastating. It's not an easy thing to do at all; that embodies saying good-bye to arguably the strongest emotion in human nature. This means getting rid of a part of you; what you are as a person. Life after saying good-bye is intriguing. There' the process of trying to "cope without," it consists of trying to find things to fill a void. You may pick up new hobbies, new habits, go back to doing things you used to do before love, etc. This can be good in the sense that you learn more about yourself, you feel liberated, and you build a stronger sense of independence. Then there's some bad; you pick up bad habits (i.e. drinking and smoking more), getting a "rebound." That's the bounce back person for all the wrong reasons. Then there's being cold, close-minded, and thinking you can't go on with life. There's you seeking attention in the wrong places, always wanted to be loved, even latching on and hanging out with the wrong people. Once you said good-bye to love, you lost yourself. You no longer have an identity. Most of the time, the good mixes with the bad. When the bad overcomes the good, then that's when the "ole thing" comes back into the picture. Yes, the same "ole thing" you said good-bye to, forever. The person who knows you best, yet hurt you the most. The "ole thing" comes back as a calm gentler person, but is still the same "ole thing." You go back to the "ole thing" because you feel comfortable, you know them; but being comfortable doesn't solve problems. You forgive, but forget to solve; then the same problems evolve. Good-bye again, forever again? Maybe, maybe not. You can say good-bye to love and mean "until the next time." That doesn't mean that the "ole thing" has to come back too. It's ok to be free and independent. it's also ok to let go and not be cold , or afraid to let new people in. You can't win unless you try. Who's your true love? it's stupid to keep answering a question with the same wrong answer(ole thing).

Change
Once you're embedded in a certain culture it's HARD to change. Even if it's a change for the better, change is always difficult. A temporary change is seen as nice, but it always ends up in failure. Relapsing just seems oh so right, all awhile you know what you're doing is wrong. But it's a familiar practice just like playing your favorite song. it's like going along to get along, just because of fear of change.
The fear of change just puts a "black hole" or negative aspect on change. Change in certain cultures means that you're a "bitch," "uncle tom," backstabber , and so forth. WHY? Change is ineveitable, so how come it isn't accepted by everyone. Change is something that should always be embraced as a normal part of life. Progressing as an individual should never come under scrutiny, but in many instances it is often criticized. The person most guilty of this is the individual that is attempting to change for his or her personal reasons. You should never be scared to be yourself, that's the one person you'll always have to deal with. causing conflict within because of what other people think is wrong. personal advancement through change should be a blissful moment for whoever is involved with the occurrance.

We the Hypocrites (Men)
Can't should never be in a man's vocabulary,
But when it comes to women...(laughs)
We could have once been known as pimps
She could never been known as a pimp
We call them whore
And I can't walk one them through my mother's doors
We can fuck bitches left and right
She can't never had a scandulous night
If so? She ain't right
Forget about the fact that she know all the bad shit 'bout you
Never mind the fact your mother's a woman and done the same shit too
Our double standard affects "how" and "who" we choose
Accepting the truth about your woman sound simple, but it's win/lose
We can go out and drink and party all night
Maybe she can go out but she can't drink or party
She just too dumb, "She wanna get done"
We think drinks make our girl easy and sleazy?
We drink, get questioned
And it's "baby why you don't believe me?"
We tell her what we gonna do, and what she can't
Tell her what we are, and what she ain't
And we she leave. we devastated
Thanx to our mis-take
Wouldn't let be breathe, wouldn't let her see
Things would have been aight if we accepted "you +me"
But when it comes to women...(laughs)

American Principles
I pledge allegiance to the flag
Of the United States of America
And to the republic, for which it stands
One nation, Under God, Indivisible....
ONE NATION UNDER GOD?
We ain't the only people here
It's simple, that's America's principles
"In God We Trust"
Just to survive? Gettin' money is a must
What we say=our way, or your head we bust
Trophy wives on the arm, Shit was built off lust...
"Land of the free, home of the brave"
My ancestors were slaves
They trap niggas in a cage
Pay amigos below minimum wage
Show girls the whole world is a stage
Fuck 'em outta rage
Racism must exist, check the people wit old age...
"You living the American Dream"
Perception sold, based off a white man's scheme
Life ain't always what it seem...

Our Music
The day we started fucking, our meoldy came to an end
We started off drinking something brown
It was either Remy or Hen'
That night we drowned in our sin
Not in the sense of doing something wrong
But we changed the tune of our "native" song
We used to make music wit our words
Exchanging food for thought
But it was all for naught
Now our music is the beats we make betwwen the sheets
And if we ain't fucking:
You suckin'
I'm lickin'
Then I'm back to stickin', "GETTIN' IT IN"
When we do talk it's about the dick and.....
(we're fuckin' again)

Trapped
For tha last half century plus, Black people have been da been the craziest animals in the world
See we glorify being animals and wonder why shit just don't change for us
We run around wit raging hormones aand don't know da difference between love and lust
We just out chasin nuts so we can bust
We actin just like wat Willie Lynch wrote 300 years ago
Lynch wrote dat if given freedom Niggas will only keep Niggas down and keep the black race in chaos
Boy ol' boy was dis' little cracker right, if he could see from his grave he'll be like "oh what a sight!"
See we always speak of the white man when it comes to someone to blame Not realizin that "they" set da trap over a hundred years ago
But we the only fools still playin the game
We thrive off killin off each otha over the most ignorant shit
We thrive off callin our women all types of hoes and bitches, and best friends dawgs (dogs)
See we animals ya'll, we don't really know how 2 act
All the most ignorant shit runs of lives
See we the most self concious people in da world, we rather spend money on clothes than books
And wonder why we don't have no knowledge, SHIT, most of our people ain't gonna make it to college
We're taught to kill and fight over for what we want, not realizin dat we turnin ourselves into an endangered species
All black men are being killed or put behind bars, selling ourselves short of the chance to reach for the stars
It's a cycle that repeats itself, why u think it's a three strike system in America?
Cause niggas never learn, see u got three times to fuck up and if you used all your strikes right
That means that you took a coupla lives, fucked over a coupla potential wives, and neglected a coupla kids
Black man done struck out and left a whole in da household, now da little boys don't know how to be men
And da little girls don't have daddy, so they out in the streets chasin daddy who just might be dat nigga in da flyest Caddy
And his Caddy ain't legit and he'll strike out in the next ten years
And Willie Lynch's word will perservere, and we'll act like we don't care
So yeah it's time for a change, a revolution
But niggas scared of change and revolution, so it'll be a evolution
We'll evolve into our own non-existence, all cuz we in love wit da Trap
"Trap or Die nigga" Right?
See we glorify being animals and wonder why shit just don't change for us

Label Whore
Pussy don't fail me now!
That's the mindset of this label whore
Who doesn't want to be labeled a whore
She says sex is just a chore she does to get what she wants
I tell her its ok, she aint gotta front
She can't afford it so she use tricks to stunt
She playin Russian Roulette wit her coochie
All cuz she obsessed wit labels such as Gucci
She say the Louis Vutton got her right;
All becuz dude thought her head was bomb last night
She stays true to her religion, focused on gettin her True Religions
She said school wouldn't gonna get her too far,
And her shoe game needed to be up to par, So...
She's in and outta cars, lookin for bargaining chips at bars
She wanna look like a movie star, so she act like a porn star
It's now to the point when she look at herself in the mirror, her eyes say
"I don't even know who you are..."

Me vs. ME
STREETS BEEN GOOD TO ME.......
Naw, fuck that, streets been cruel to me
Yeah streets made me, but this game crazed me
Now im a monster and my inner-me is my worse enemy
I'm a drug addict, but my rehab is cells cuz I specialize in illegal sells
Narcotics anonymous ain't no help to me, but the effects of them drugs is synonymous to me
I think the money too good, but i'm too stupid and can't see that this money ain't gon' keep me out the hood
This game play tricks on me, got me feeling trapped in a box
But at the same time it got me feeling arrogant
I remember when I used to smirk at the cops...
I tried over and over again but i just can't stop!
I become immune to gun shots
Im wired for how to react when shit get hot...
I still got dreams, but i'm addicted to my quick money schemes
The game done took over my brain, now im halfway insane
This game's a losing game and I been trynna quit
But it's all I know, my heart won't let it go...
I'M A DRUG ADDICT

Feelings
Conversation got cut short by the temptation in his shorts
And rampant moisture in her boy shorts
the 2 lovebirds got caught up in the moment
and the condom in his pocket got lost for da moment
Cuz he wanted to "feel" her
And she wanted to "feel" him inside of her
And a nite without the condom was the only way this could occur...
They ain't know what they was gettin into,
they just knew that he was "feeling" her
And she was "feeling" him
So Trojan, Durex,...LATEX had no place in between them
But as time went past she her thought changed of him
Her thoughts of him changed his opinion of her
They drifted apart and she started "feelin" different dudes
Their names changed d'pending on the da day
And he started "feelin" any girl that came his way...
While their relationship was strained, their "feelings" never got estranged
So they kept "feeling" upon each other again and again
All that was left of them existed under the covers
No words, No trust, Just lust
And one day while he was "filling" her, she "filled" him with 3 letters that'll give any man the chills
Damn, they aint expect their "feelings" to kill...

Church Pimps
Religion has often been used for coping with oppression and hardships. This is nothing unusual for the poor and disenfranchised. This is especially true in the case of many African Americans; the church has often served as a source of relief, a community service center, and a place to be uplifted and motivated in life. Essentially, the church to African Americans is a place of encouragement and promotes growth of the community as a whole. Unfortunately, this practice is being exploited by pimps posing as pastors.
A deep religious faith is something that is deeply rooted into the culture of African Americans and their worldview. A reference to faith or religion is almost certain when discussing the African American community. This stems from the days of slavery, which was a harshest and most difficult situation African Americans had to deal with. Lately, the leaders of African American mega-churches have been under criticism for abandoning the traditions of normal African American churches. That’s because religion is used to control the masses and instilling fear. Instead of conducting church that black people are accustomed to; the leaders have indulged in a lifestyle of individualism and materialism.
These pimps, who are pastors and reverends, are taking a new approach to church in an effort to get money instead of reaching out to the community. They deliver their sermons with extra enthusiasm and motivation (money), thus becoming a commodity, and their performance serving as their labor power. Their dialogue resembles that of a pimp, such as Bishop Don Magic Juan (Yes he’s really a Bishop). This draws attention and brings in more members to the congregation; and these members tithe which is how the church brings in money. This means the church is getting wealthier because the leader is entertaining. Then if the pastor’s performance is “powerful” or entertaining enough, TV cameras and sponsors enter the picture. Now television is a part of the church and the sponsors, who donate money, are also part of the church. African Americans are not used to sponsored church. Church is now a business. IS THIS NECESSARY? There is a huge surplus of money going into the church which is a boost to the subsistence or local economy. Adding to the congregation as turned into the means of production while giving to the congregation is getting more neglected. Instead if giving back, and being a community service center like the old days, the pimp gives little and enjoys luxurious things such as Bentleys and Range Rovers. Yes, a sermon is still delivered every week, but those words are just for entertainment and are not heartfelt.
The presence of a new and improved mega-church leads way to more production of commodities for the new church. It’s a new church because it does not carry the same tradition that African American culture has. The church as a building now has more value than a normal church. So it is kind of like a mini-convention center. Now other ceremonies, seminars, parties, etc. are held at the church in exchange for more money. Once again, mega-churches are nothing more than religious businesses.
Money is a great motivator and can bring out the worse and or another side of people. Money has become the motivator for the leaders of these mega-churches. The tradition has been lost and forgotten in exchange for the dollar bill. Another use of religion has been control, and that is how mega-churches are using it as well. They have brainwashed most members of their huge congregations and have people attending and becoming members of church for commercial value. The reality is that the members of the church are not getting anything special in return except for more a comfortable spacious environment to get lost within. The congregation does not see the monster that their money is creating. The mega-church is a contributor to problems within the African American community across America. They do not reach out and help the community solve the problems; they just open doors for people to join their business which they call the church. The problems for African Americans have gotten worse, while business for the church has gotten better. Pimpin’ aint easy, huh?

What's All the Fuss About?
Many NFL analysts and observers have been critical of the Dallas Cowboys this offseason for not acquiring a no. 2 wide receiver to play along side Terell Owens, which makes me wonder did they watch the Cowboys last year?
The Cowboys finished 3rd in the league in total offense, 2nd in scoring, and set plenty of club records in 2007. They accomplished all of this while Terry Glenn played a total of four plays during the entire season. This is a team that needs to go out and make a big trade for another big-time receiever when they already have T.O. and Jason Witten? Does not necessarily make sense to me. History says that the Cowboys should be grooming T.O.'s replacement but adding another no. 1 receiver to this offense might have a negative effect on the team's chemistry. There would ot be enough balls for everyone if another Pro Bowl caliber player were added to the offense. Regardless of the fact that Patrick Crayton dropped a crucial pass in last season's playoff gae against division rival New York Giants; he still had a breakout year and served well as the team's no. 2 receiver last year. In reality, he's the team's no. 3 receiver given Witten's role in the passing game. So all of this fuss about the Cowboys not making a move for a no. 2 receiver is neing overevaluated.
Consider this:
1.The Arizona Cardinals have two All-Pro wideouts on their roster with Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald and have yet to make the plaoffs with them both in the team.
2. The Patriots and Packers finished Nos. 1 and 2 respectively in total offense ahead of the Cowboys; and the only true no. 1 receiver out of both teams is Randy Moss.
3. Are there really any no. 2 WRs left in the NFL?
In today's NFL all good WRs want to be considered no. 1 receivers. The Cowboys have a lot to look forward to on offense, especially with Tony Romo getting a full year under his belt as a starter, and Offensive Coodinator Jason Garrett entering his second season calling plays. With Crayton getting better every year, and the addition of rookie running back Felix Jones as a "home-run hitter," the Cowboys still have one of the most potent offenses in the league. The departure of Julius Jones, who despite starting all regular season games, was ultimately the team's second-option at running back; does not hurt the Cowboy's offense. The new Jones should fill those shoes, and seve as a great complement to Pro-Bowler Marion Barber III who just recieved a huge contract. This bodes well for the Cowboys since both backs are used to sharing the load as Jones did with Darren McFadden at Arkansas, and Barber did with Patriots' back Laurence Maroney at the University of Minnesota then with Julius Jones in Dallas.
The Cowboys have huge expectations this year with the additions on the defensive side of the ball and the special teams unit. The possibility of having gadget plays for the partially reinstated Adam "Pacman" Jones, adds more potency to this already potent unit. The old saying "If it's not broke, then don't fix," could never be more true for the Dallas Cowboys.

"Paul Pierce is The Truth......... So Why Question Him?"
Doc Rivers described the situation best when he said, "Aren't we skeptics now anyway about everything?"
River's quote was in reference to all of the skepticism his All-Star and team captain Paul Pierce's(aka The Truth) injury in Game 1 of this year's NBA Finals. Pierce is a 10 year veteran making his first NBA Finals appearance. Besides being an All-Star, pierce is one of the toughest and durable players in the league; he's played in 72 or more games in 7 of the last 8 years. So to question this guy's toughness during this critical stage of the season is just ridiculous. Why on earth would the captain of the NBA's best team (as indicated by their regular season record) fake an injury on the game's biggest stage? The thought of that just sounds ridiculous. What ever happened to common sense? These are the NBA Finals not Hollywood.
No, this momonet does not compare with with Willis Reed did for the New York Knicks in 1970. let's not be prisoners of the moment here. Reed's heroics were on display in Game 7 and his injury was far more severe. Nevertheless, let's not diminish what Pierce did for his team in Game 1 of the highly anticipated matchup. Pierce returned and provided the Celtics with the separation they needed in order to win the game. His back-to-back 3s late in the third quarter were crucial, but are under serious skepticism because of what preceded that moment.
This shows how ungrateful the sports world has become, everthing is examined closely under a microscope. Why must everything be questioned? Pierce's moment does not have to as great as Reed's, but it can add to his own legacy. This was Pierce's moment of truth, and chance for to him to prove himself and solidify his presence among the NBA's elite. Did we all forget that he shot 5-5 in the second half including 3-3 from behind the arc? Did we forget that he was facing the greatest player in the world (Kobe Bryant) and that his team is considered the underdor despite being the overall no.1 seed? Maybe the sports critics are delusional, they just can not handle The Truth.
